WILD SPACES: Brand funded nature restoration. Episode #1

Category: Brand, Cinema, Sustainability

Brief: We were approached by Plastic Pictures and DIVE Agency about their new exciting project - Wild Spaces. A new cinema spot that funds nature restoration projects in our National Parks. These projects revive nature, boost diversity, and improve access so more people can get out there and enjoy it.

We filmed Episode #1 which features peatland restoration on Kinder Scout, in the Peak District. The restoration process includes reintroducing Sphagnum moss. This species of moss can hold a huge amount of water and is effective at reducing flooding in the towns downstream from Kinder Scout.

Outcome: There was a crew of 10 of us working on this project from Creative Producers from the agencies to the restoration experts. We provided the film crew - Jay Haysey as Director of Photography and an assistant. We spent two days hiking and filming in the beautiful Peak District and experienced all weathers!

Each episode of the Wild Spaces series will be screened in Pearl and Dean cinemas nation-wide. Every 3 months Wild Spaces will release a new episode documenting the progress of the projects and their impact. Giffgaff is the launch brand and Wild Spaces will open up to other advertisers from March 2025.
