Passion Project
Johny Vieira is an Artist and surfer from Santa Cruz, Portugal. We discovered Johny’s ‘Surf Art’ in a magazine article and instantly wanted to document his story, process and artworks through film and photography.
Everything about his work is beautifully visual, from his reasons ‘why’ and inspiration behind what he makes to the creativity in his workshop and the epic waves and vast cliffs on his doorstep.
After Johny learnt to surf over 20 years ago the ocean became a place where he seeks all his inspiration as well as materials for his artwork - surfing became the bridge to his world of creating.
“Waves are utterly fluid, they appear only in a fraction of time and immediately disappear, leaving no trace, apart from the one in our memory.”
